station locator

1. What does a red pushpin  red  or blue pushpin  blue  indicate on the map?
In Canada, a red pushpin denotes an Esso station. On the United States map, a red pushpin denotes an Exxon station, and a blue pushpin denotes a Mobil station.

2. What does a red and blue cluster pushpin  redblue  indicate on the map?
This indicates that there is more than one station in that area. To view the stations in that area, click on the cluster pushpin or zoom in. The map will start to cluster data if there are 30 stations returned on the search.

3. What does a red and black pushpin  redblue  indicate on the map?
This denotes the center of your search. This does not denote a station.

4. Why can't I see any stations?
The Locator search engine automatically points to the center of the criteria entered, so you may have to zoom out to find some stations. You can zoom out by using the slider on the left hand side of the map.

5. How can I move around on the map?
The arrows in the upper left hand side of the map allow you to pan North, East, South and West. Another way to do this is simply click and drag the map whichever direction you prefer. You can zoom in and out by using the "+" and "-" or slider. You can also zoom in by double clicking on the map where you want it to center at.

6. How do I find the station closest to me?
First search for your location on the Locator page, then click on "plan your route". This will automatically give you a map to the station nearest the starting point.

7. Can I search by a station's features?
You can search for stations with only certain features by clicking on the "show services" button under "refine your search" on the left side of the screen. Just check the services you are looking for and click on 'narrow search'. (Remember, you will have to 'clear selections' to do a new search showing all of the features.)

8. Can I see a different view of the map?
If you prefer the look of a satellite image, simply click on "Satellite" in the upper right hand side of the map. "Hybrid" is another option that combines the map with a satellite image. The "Terrain" option displays a topographical map.
